Artista, the first art gang (club) to rise up in the U.S. Artista was established in 1980 by David Sheridan, Alton Kelley and Pat Ryan.

Most of the members of Artista bought a Artista jacket featuring the embroided image of the Artista dragon on the back. The Artista dragon's body is a tube of paint and it's tail is a paint brush. My jacket (below) is in the default color scheme of red and black but other members sometimes got jackets in other colors. The jackets were personalized on the front with the member's gang name. The jackets were usually made of satin that did not last too long. Due to wear there are probably not too many of these jackets still in existence.
